Sermons of Saint Alphonsus, for the Second Lord’s Day after Epiphany: Many persons fast every Saturday on bread and water: you should fast in this manner at least on the vigils of her seven principle festivals.  In Saint Alphonsus' time there were seven principle festivals, but now there is a crown of twelve stars with 12 principle festivals.
